Robotics & Automation's cohesive vision, superior technologies, consultative team approach and best-in-class reliability make us the trusted partner in solving the most challenging motion control problems.Robotics & Automation's precision component and subsystem solutions solve application-specific challenges for technology-driven original equipment manufacturers from a range of markets.**Summary**This job is responsible for determining material specifications, creating and maintaining inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external stakeholder relations.**Primary Responsibilities*** Responsible for complex fulfillment and production plans* Participate in system or process improvement initiatives to ensure the function has the best tools* Review and revise production and fulfillment plans as required by changes in the manufacturing schedules* Act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Customer Care, Sales and Product Management, communicating and troubleshooting issues, problems, and concerns* Analyzes production plans and inventory reports, availability / requirements for long lead time items to provide production guidance to the manufacturing sites.* Assist in the expediting finished goods, when necessary, to support customer order fulfillment* Recommend and implement production and transportation actions when products are in out-of-stock or allocation situations.* Partners with management/departments on matters related to production or fulfillment planning.* Must maintain a well-balanced focus between external and internal customer requirements and possesses.**Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies*** Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical field (or equivalent experience)* 2+ years' experience in manufacturing, production management or production planning* American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification (preferred)* Proven ability to ensure material availability, while reducing inventory and increasing inventory turns.* Systematic approach to analyzing and reducing the supply base to achieve maximize EOQ purchasing for cost effectiveness* Team player with strong computer, written, verbal and skills* Ability to multitask and manage changing business conditions is essential* Previous experience with opto-electronics and PCB commodities,* Working experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environments* International purchasing & planning experience a plus* Understand and participate in the SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) process.**Travel Requirements*** None**Physical Requirements*** NoneNovanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
