Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company in Columbus, Nebraska is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to establish production schedules and ensure material availability for manufacturing operations. You will work across production, planning, logistics and suppliers to balance inventory and meet customer expectations.

The role requires at least 5 years in a manufacturing or supply chain environment, BA/BS in a related field, and SAP/ERP knowledge.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain/Business required.
  • 5 years in a Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management environment.
  • APICs Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage manufacturing production schedules and ensure materials are available.
  • Coordinate with production operators, management, planners/buyers and logistics across the site.
  • Balance raw materials and supplies to minimize on-hand inventory.
  • Prevent material outages and production stoppages to avoid backorders and revenue loss.
  • Maintain open orders and advance them in the production plan.
  • Communicate schedules, materials, and progress with manufacturing.
  • Process and distribute Experimental Orders.
  • Review planned component purchases and convert to vendor POs.
  • Interact with suppliers on open and change orders deliveries.
  • Engage with manufacturing floor for feedback on inventory levels.
  • Co-coordinate with other planners/buyers on component demands and finished goods shipments.
  • Coordinate inventory integrity with manufacturing for system reliability.
  • Assist with compliance measurement reporting systems.
  • Support new and experimental product runs with components replacements or additions.
  • Other duties to support business needs.

Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. This position is responsible for assuring that manufacturing production schedules are established and that the materials required for production are available.
  2. Works with production operators, production management, Planner/Buyers and Logistics management across BD.
  3. Has the responsibility to balance raw materials and supplies to minimize on hand inventory.
  4. Ensures scheduling does not result in outages of material and production stoppages that could negatively impact other plants/customers, causing backorders and/or revenue loss to the company.
  5. Maintain open orders in the system and bring them forward in the production plan.
  6. Maintains ongoing communications with manufacturing regarding schedules, materials, etc.
  7. Process and distribute Experimental Orders.
  8. Review system planned component purchases and convert them into vendor purchase orders.
  9. Interact with supplier representatives on open order and change order deliveries.
  10. Interact with manufacturing floor personnel and establish an internal network for feedback on low component inventory levels.
  11. Co-coordinate with other Planner/Buyers on component demands and on finished goods shipments.
  12. Coordinate inventory integrity with manufacturing to maintain system reliability.
  13. Assist with compliance measurement reporting systems.
  14. Support new and experimental product runs to include replacement or new components.
  15. Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

  • Master scheduling satisfies customer expectations and on-time delivery.
Supervision:
  • Exempt Associates - Small team 1-~10 associates
Education:

Required: BA/BS - Supply Chain Management or Business

Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years in a Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management environment.

APICs Certification preferred
