Job summary

OBAN Corporation is recruiting for a Transportation Planner with a BS/BA/MS/MA and at least four years of relevant experience to support transportation planning efforts in the Washington Metro Area. The role includes preparing feasibility reports, collecting transportation data, and assisting with policy documents and public meetings.

The candidate will use AI tools to augment analysis, interact with communities and clients, and coach junior planners while maintaining required government

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearances.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing reports documenting feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, policy documents, and other similar documents.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data specific to transportation, including plans and policies, regulations, land use, demographics, economic conditions, and communities.
• Assist in preparing notices, displays, and presentations for public meetings, and participate in meetings.
• Conduct preliminary project-level needs assessments. Collect, analyze, interpret and document data.
• Leverage AI tools appropriately to augment human analysis.
• Work with communities and clients in establishing goals and strategies and help prioritize plans moving forward.
• Capable of working without direct supervision and providing coaching to junior planners.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
