Job description

As aPLANNER at FHR’s Pine Bend Oil Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota, you will be part of the reliability team, which ensures that the refinery equipment runs safely and efficiently and that quality repairs are made in a timely manner. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing work orders for the execution process, working hand in hand with Crafts, Operations, Asset Engineers, and Peers to forecast the removal of barriers necessary to perform work. Work will be focused in the fixed asset areas and will encompass repair, preventative maintenance, and upgrades to various equipment in the refinery such as valves, PSVs, check valves, piping, exchangers, steam tracing, and other process equipment.

You will be working together with a high-paced, self-driven workforce that handles most of the organization’s day-to-day maintenance needs in the Pipefitter and Boilermaker fields. You will also team up with peers to work directly with a multitude of crafts to capitalize on opportunities which will safely and efficiently allow for personal and organizational growth. What You Will Do

We are seeking candidates with familiarity in pipefitter, boilermaker, plumbing, or other mechanical fields. Possess abilities in troubleshooting, repairing, and working with piping and other various equipment. A strong commitment to working safely with the right tools, PPE, and environmental awareness is a must.

The successful candidate will have a desire to contribute in a team setting, have a willingness and interest in learning and utilizing new technologies, and be proficient in utilizing computer-based tools and mobile applications to access information about plant equipment and job tasks. Work is performed in both shop areas and outside in all types of weather.

Work responsibilities will involve:

  • Reviewing job scopes on new,unusualor critical jobs with historical problems to develop understanding of expectations
  • Determining and documenting steps and time estimatesrequiredto complete jobs within scope - Step out jobs detailing completion requirements
  • Complete work order step textin accordance withjob package guidelines
  • Build job packages
  • Provide cost estimates as needed/requested
  • Assure FHR specifications and standards are followed throughout planning process - perform field work walk downs developing a comprehensive understanding of scope,planand requirements
  • Follow planning priority process assuringhigh riskwork isproperly planned
  • Participatein weekly schedule review meetings, proactively providing insight and input
  • Communicate and coordinate multi-craft jobs with all other planners
  • Communication with AWS/MES/Crafts summarizing complex jobs
  • Provide input to critical reliability & opening schedule tovalidateestimate timeline
  • Monitorthe ready work order backlog ensuringhigh riskjobs are completed
  • Ensure all scheduled work is ready to go with plans that meet all expectations

  • Position may require extended work schedules of up to 14 consecutive shifts and periodic night shifts
  • The ability to climb ladders, stairways, vessels, towers, and pipe racks is required.
Competitive Benefits Package:
  • The normal work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday and Operational needs may require weekend coverage, including Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays.

For this role, we anticipate paying $115,000 - $140,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
