Job summary

Weyerhaeuser in Dodson, LA is seeking an experienced Planer Machine Operator to join our Planer Mill team on the 2nd shift. This full-time, hourly role pays $27.55 per hour and requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years in manufacturing or equivalent training.

You will be responsible for machine adjustments, setup, safety compliance, and maintaining quality with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent technical training.
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment and machinery.
• Must be able to work overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments to machines to maintain product quality and throughput.
• Perform daily set up procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Repair, set up and adjust planer machines for required sizes.
• Identify and fix defects from planer setup.
• Follow mill safety processes and procedures.
• Assist with other planer mill maintenance tasks as needed.
• Enter work notifications into computer data/tracking system.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Dodson Lumber Mill is seeking an experience Planer Machine Operator to join our Planer Mill team. This is a full-time hourly position with an hourly wage of $27.55.

Key Responsibilities

• Make adjustments to machines as needed to maintain excellent product quality and planer throughput
• Perform daily set up procedures
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Repair, set up and adjust planer machines for required sizes
• Recognize and eliminate defects due to planer set up
• Perform all duties in accordance with mill safety processes and procedures
• Assist with other planer mill maintenance as needed
• Enter work notifications into computer data base/tracking system
• Other duties as assigned

• Able to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety protective equipment.
• Able to perform labor intensive work and essential job functions of the position, which may include climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 lbs. and bending, work from heights, and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours.
