Job summary

Cummins Inc. is offering a placement-year opportunity starting Summer 2027 within the Customer Engineering Team. The role emphasizes supporting engineering project management for current and new applications, and leading or assisting with subsystem testing at customer sites.

Ideal candidates are currently studying a STEM degree, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and a willingness to learn. CAD and MS Office skills are advantageous but not required.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a STEM subject at degree level with an allowance for a 12-month industry placement.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills due to interface with customer and Cummins internal departments.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Existing skills with MS applications and CAD are beneficial, though not essential.

Responsibilities

• Being an integral part of the Customer Engineering Team.

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence in Summer 2027. In this role, you will make an impact by:

• Being an integral part of the Customer Engineering Team.
• Supporting Customer Engineering with optimization of engineering project management for current and new applications.
• Leading/supporting application subsystem testing at customer sites.
• Lead small projects or sections of larger projects, alongside customer engineers and or functional experts.
• Obtaining and collecting technical customer information and sharing these voices back into the new product development teams.
• To be successful in this role you will need the following To be currently studying a STEM subject at degree level with an allowance for a 12-month industry placement
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills are required due to the interface with both customer and Cummins Internal departments.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
• Existing skills with MS applications and CAD are also beneficial, although not essential.
