Job summary
General Dynamics IT is seeking a PKI Systems Engineer to advance customer missions through secure certificate services and PKI management. You will design, implement, and monitor PKI infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and compliance.
The role requires hands-on experience with CAs, RAs, and HSMs, plus strong scripting abilities. Onsite in Washington, DC with potential hybrid arrangements and US citizenship required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of PKI concepts and digital certificates.
- Experience managing certificate authorities (CAs), registration authorities (RAs), and hardware security modules (HSMs).
- Experience with PKI tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of standards and protocols (e.g., X.509, TLS/SSL, OCSP, CRLs).
- Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environment.

- Strong understanding of public/private key cryptography and digital certificates.
- Hands‑on experience in managing certificate authorities (CAs), registration authorities (RAs), and hardware security modules (HSMs).
- Experience with PKI tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols (e.g., X.509, TLS/SSL, OCSP, CRLs).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Clearance: Must be able/willing to obtain a Top Secret and SCI eligible

The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
