Job summary

Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to help deliver next‑generation PKI product functionalities within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Certificate System, contributing to open‑source projects such as Dogtag PKI.

The role focuses on design, development, testing, and collaboration with contributors worldwide to bring features to existing components or bootstrap new ones.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Java or Rust programming experience.
• Knowledge of Linux operating system and its development tools.
• Experience with PKI, cryptography, and security technologies.
• Experience using AI agents to accelerate development.
• Good written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Development of high-quality PKI solutions, owning code quality and testing.
• Participate in requirements gathering, scoping, development, testing and verification.
• Practice defensive programming to deliver stable software for Red Hat customers and upstream communities.
• Communicate and collaborate with developers and teams inside and outside Red Hat.
