Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator in Lithonia, GA to safely operate a pit loader and maintain stockpile quality. The role emphasizes safety leadership around trucks and on-site equipment. Hours are 6:00 am–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends and overtime as needed.

The successful candidate will perform pre/post inspections, daily maintenance, support training of coworkers, and help maintain safe site traffic while operating related equipment as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent to perform responsibilities.
• Experience in maintenance and operation of mobile equipment and/or equipment used processing plants.
• Six months of experience operating and maintaining a front-end loader (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate a pit loader safely and efficiently within company guidelines.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections of working areas and ensure berms and safe roadways.
• Conduct pre-shift safety inspections and report needed repairs.
• Maintain safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and check for leaks or wear.
• Maintain safe traffic flow on-site and assist training of coworkers.
