Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator in Raleigh, NC. The role emphasizes safety, dependability, and motivation to efficiently operate a pit loader and maintain quality stockpiles. The successful candidate will support site safety and lead truck movement on site.

Hours are 6:30AM - 4:30PM with weekends as necessary. Raleigh, NC environment and responsibilities include inspections, maintenance, and training of co-workers as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Six months of experience operating and maintaining a front-end loader (preferred).
• Experience in maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment, and/or equipment used in processing plants.

Responsibilities

• Operate a pit loader safely within company guidelines and safety standards.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections of working areas, ensuring berms and roadways are adequate.
• Conduct pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and report needed repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain safe operations around conveyors, surge piles and crushers.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance (tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses, moving parts).
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Operate other equipment (e.g., excavators and haul trucks) as needed.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating aand Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.

You May Be a Good Fit If You
