KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Dimensional Inspector for a piping fabrication operation in Walker, Louisiana. The role focuses on verifying that each pipe spool matches approved drawings for dimensions, tolerances, orientation, and identification before progressing or shipping.

The ideal candidate has pipefitting or fabrication experience, reads spool drawings well, and can identify poor fits before they become field issues.

Qualifications

• Experience as pipefitter, spool inspector, or QC role.
• Ability to read isometrics, spool sheets, and fabrication notes.
• Takes accurate measurements with common inspection tools.
• Clear communication with craft and quality teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; trade experience considered.
• Willing to meet project access, orientation, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pipe spools, fittings, flanges, branches, and supports against isometrics and project specs.
• Verify overall dimensions and tolerances, end preps, offsets, angles, elevations, and orientations.
• Confirm flange rotation, bolt-hole orientation, slope, takeoffs, and match points before release.
• Measure with tapes, squares, levels, calipers, and templates; check tool calibration.
• Record measurements on drawings/records and flag discrepancies.
• Coordinate inspection timing with fitters, welders, QC, and material control to minimize rework.
• Reinspect corrected work and document final acceptance in project records.
