Job summary

Insight Global in Colorado is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support pharmaceutical, oil & gas, heavy industrial, and manufacturing projects. The role develops piping designs and 3D models while coordinating with project leads, designers, drafters, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Ideal candidates will have 8–12 years of piping design experience and be proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Navisworks, and BIM workflows.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of piping designer experience in industrial or process environments.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Plant 3D and CADWorx 3D.
  • Experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems, codes, and drafting standards.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience generating isometric drawings with Isogen.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop piping designs and 3D models for industrial projects.

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join our team and support a variety of industrial facility projects within the pharmaceutical, oil & gas, heavy industrial, and manufacturing sectors. This position works closely with project leads, designers, drafters, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop high-quality piping designs and 3D models. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Navisworks, and BIM coordination, along with a strong understanding of piping systems, drafting standards, and industry design practices.

Skills and Requirements
  • 8-12 years of experience as a Piping Designer in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or oil & gas environments.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx 3D, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Strong understanding of multi-discipline design drawings, including mechanical, structural, piping, plumbing, drainage, and plant/facility design.
  • Experience working within 3D modeling environments, utilizing Xrefs and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Knowledge of BIM workflows and model coordination processes.
  • Familiarity with a variety of piping systems, equipment layouts, and facility design practices.
  • Strong understanding of piping standards, industry codes, and design best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and project deadlines.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, oil & gas, heavy industrial, chemical, or process facility projects.
  • Experience generating isometric drawings using Isogen.
  • Background in constructability reviews and design quality assurance.
