Job summary

CORE Group is seeking a Pipewelder to join an elite team of pipe fitters and welders on the Texas coast. In this Stage 0 ground support equipment role, you will execute precision fits and high-integrity welds on complex GSE pipe systems supporting vehicle testing and flight operations.

You will work under a lead welder, interpreting engineering drawings to plan welding operations and ensure conformance to ASME B31.3 standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience using GTAW or GMAW on stainless steel pipe.
• Night shift work hours 6:00 pm – 6:00 am and overtime as needed.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld complex stainless steel piping systems using GTAW and GMAW.
• Analyze drawings and specs with supervision to plan welding operations.
• Visually inspect welds per ASME B31.3 and training requirements.
• Obtain and maintain internal licenses or certifications as required.
• Improve operations and reduce turnaround times through teamwork.

Job Summary
Join an elite team of pipe fitters and welders on the Texas coast. In this Stage 0 ground support equipment (GSE) pipe welder role, you’ll be responsible for executing precision fits and high-integrity welds on complex GSE pipe systems that support vehicle testing and flight operations.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld complex stainless steel piping systems using various welding processes (manual and semi-automatic) for launch and test sites
• Under the supervision of a lead welder, analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable
• Visually inspect work in alignment with ASME B31.3 (normal and high-pressure service) with proper training
• Obtain and maintain internal licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required
• Continuously look for ways to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes while working cooperatively with the team
• Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities based on program needs
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support an efficient and effective work environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of experience using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) or gas metal arc welding (GMAW - STT/RMD) on stainless steel pipe
• Typical hours (excluding overtime): 6:00 pm - 6:00 am (night shift)
• Must be available for overtime and weekends as schedules vary depending on site operational needs; flexibility is required
• Valid driver’s license
• Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain)
• Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including:
  • Stand: up to 10 hours/day
  • Sit: up to 10 hours/day
  • Walk: up to 10 hours/day
  • Overhead reach: up to 10 hours/day
  • Push/Pull: up to 75 lbs (unassisted) for 1-2 hours/day
  • Lift/Carry: up to 50 lbs (unassisted) for 1-2 hours/day
  • Climb (ladder/stairs): up to 6 hours/day
  • Kneel/Crouch: up to 10 hours/day
  • Upper body twist: up to 6 hours/day
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80°F for 6 hours or greater per day
• Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500 ft), in confined spaces, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements listed; may be required to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm capabilities (including a medical history review)
