Job summary

Miller Pipeline is seeking qualified Welders to support repair, maintenance, construction, installation and fusion of gas distribution pipelines. On-the-job training and safety-focused environment emphasize quality and reliability.

Candidates should have an associate degree or certificate, a valid CDL or driver’s license, and a current DOT physical. 6+ months of related experience is preferred, with strong math and instruction-reading skills. CDL preferred for broader assignments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion certificate from a two-year college or trade school; experience may substitute.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Current DOT physical.
• 6+ months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios).
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Drive a CMV/CDL-required vehicle.
• Must pass computer-based testing relevant to local operator.

Responsibilities

• Weld along weld line to meet specified fusion depth and bead quality.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Inspect weld bead size and specifications.
• Apply filler rod to supply weld metal.
• Clean or degrease weld joints.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Prepare broken parts by grooving/scarfing surfaces.
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter.
• Preheat work piece with hand torch or furnace.
• Position and clamp pieces; tack assemblies.

We are searching for qualified Welders to assist in the repair, maintenance, construction, installation and fusion of plastic pipe and reconditioning of gas distribution pipelines.

Main Responsibilities

• Manually guide welding gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molted puddle.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal.
• Clean or degrease weld joints or work piece(s).
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and splatter.
• Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace.
• Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
• Tack together assemblies.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or completion certificate from two-year college or trade school. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Current DOT physical.
• 6+ months related experience and/or training.
• Work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
• Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and/or CDL-required vehicle.
• Must pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customer’s operator.

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
