Job summary

PowerLines in Rhode Island seeks an entry-level to mid-career Inspector to assist with inspections of natural gas pipeline facilities, valves, regulator stations, meters, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. You will use field forms and basic measurement tools and contribute to safety and reliability of gas services.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, theories and processes.
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections of gas pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Pipeline Safety Regulations 49 CFR Parts 190-199 and Part 40.
  • Familiarity with Rhode Island One-Call regulations for underground utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspections of natural gas pipeline facilities using Field Evaluation forms.
  • Review operators' programs, procedures, maps, and records for compliance.
  • Assist in pipeline safety evaluations and incident investigations.
  • Prepare reports such as field evaluations and notices of violation.
  • Coordinate with PHMSA and Dig-Safe law enforcement activities.
  • Attend pipeline safety training courses as directed.
