Job summary

Gulf Interstate Engineering in Houston, TX is seeking a Project Engineer to lead pipeline and pipeline facilities engineering efforts. You will direct engineering and design for assigned project segments, coordinate disciplines, and manage scope and schedule with client teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering with 7+ years in pipeline experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and PE licensure preferred. Travel may be required to client sites and project locations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering; 7+ years in pipeline/pipeline facilities engineering
• Must be able to develop project estimates
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
• Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment
• Registration as a Professional Engineer preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review Gulf procedures and work instructions for PM group
• Direct engineering and design for the assigned project segment
• Assign scope of work to each discipline and distribute design info
• Participate in weekly project meetings and maintain action item register
• Resolve interface problems between segments or disciplines
• Review deliverables to ensure design basis is met
• Assist in engineering design when required
• Manage project team to meet schedule
• Document client orders and assess change orders impact
• Review progress and report on schedule and budget projections
