Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking a Pipeline Operator to maintain and operate all pipeline facilities, including valves, piping, and pigging activities. The role involves learning station operations, monitoring equipment, and supporting remote compressor stations as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass drug and background checks. Shifts are 12 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with operating procedures and regulations and maintains/repairs pipeline equipment as needed.
• Commissions start-up and shutdown of pipelines and performs leak surveys of the pipeline system.
• Installs pipeline markers and performs routine inspections on rights-of-ways.
• Locates pipelines and oversees excavations and line crossings.
• Records and maintains operating data, completes required reports, and creates work orders as needed.
• Must be successful in completing required Operator Qualified tests (OQ) for covered tasks.
