Job summary

A pipeline inspection company is seeking an experienced Utility Locator for a Depth of Cover Survey in SW New Mexico/E Arizona for approximately 3 weeks. The role involves operating detection equipment to locate underground pipelines, using utility maps, and preparing detailed reports. Applicants must have at least 1 year of underground utility locating experience, knowledge of GIS, and a valid Driver’s License. Per diem and mileage reimbursement are available based on worksite location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of underground utility locating experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of GIS utility map reading.
• Must have proven competency in operating electronic locating equipment.
• Able to follow complex oral and written instructions.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Bobcat Pipeline Inspection is seeking an experienced Utility Locator for a Depth of Cover Survey. This project is located in the SW New Mexico/E Arizona area and scheduled to last approximately 3 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground pipeline facilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
• Use utility maps, as-built civil engineering drawings, G.I.S. information, and various pipe and electronic locating equipment.
• Prepare detailed reports, forms, and memos to document work completed.
• Maintain safety standards by adhering to all field safety protocols and environmental regulations during survey operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of underground utility locating experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of GIS utility map reading.
• Must have proven competency in operating electronic locating equipment.
• Able to follow complex oral and written instructions, and clearly express ideas verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel.
• Must be available to work varying schedules and overtime.
