Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a Pipeline Specialist to coordinate and execute pipeline operations and maintenance across plant, pipeline, corrosion, measurement, controls, and project management.

You will assist with hot tapping, valve maintenance, pigging, hydrostatic testing, leak surveys, and supervise contractors as needed. The role requires heavy equipment operation, excavation support, and strict safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Must follow safety, environmental and regulatory policies for safe work and waste handling.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret policies, O&M manuals and blueprints.
• Ability to operate heavy pipeline excavation equipment including large trucks.
• Good communication and teamwork to interface with others and respond to emergencies.
• CDL license holder with driving record satisfactory to the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform excavation spotter tasks and manage line crossings.
• Troubleshoot and maintain DOT mainline isolation valves.
• Launch, monitor and receive pipeline pigs and develop pigging plans.
• Disassemble meter tubes and perform internal cleaning.
• Operate large trucks and haulers to move equipment to sites.
• Calibrate and maintain holiday detectors for coating inspection.
• Perform pressure tests of pipelines and fabrications.
• Mark pipelines with locating equipment and reference drawings.
• Repair shorted casings and install CP test points.
• Prepare pipelines for sleeves and anomaly repairs.
• Evacuate, purge and load pipelines; use air-movers during hot work.
• Basic acetylene cutting and beveling; level varies with skill.
• Manage orders for replacement parts and admin tasks; interact with contractors.
• Represent the company when engaging with contractors and vendors.
• Uphold Kinder Morgan Core Values and report safety/environment concerns.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.
