Job summary

Crescent Midstream, LLC in Gray, LA is seeking an experienced Pipeline Engineer to join the Engineering Team. You will manage pipeline projects, ensure compliance with Engineering Standards and DOT requirements, and provide technical support to operate Gulf assets safely and reliably.

Qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering or a Science degree, a minimum of three years of relevant experience in engineering and offshore operations, and knowledge of pipeline regulatory requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of Pipeline operating and regulatory requirements (DOT/BSEE preferred).
  • Licensed or chartered professional engineer a plus.
  • Must pass Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and ongoing screening.

  • Determine and ensure use of relevant Engineering Standards for Gulf operations and projects.
  • Ensure design/construction meets Engineering Standards and DOT requirements.
  • Create procedures for repairs, relocations, removal, and abandonment of pipelines.
  • Provide engineering support for hydrotests and inspections; perform risk assessments and analyses.

Job Purpose

This position is part of the Engineering Team, working with the entire Pipeline organization to provide engineering, project management, and technical support necessary to operate our pipeline assets in a manner that is safe, reliable, and compliant with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage capital and expense pipeline projects.
  • Determine and ensure the use of relevant Engineering Standards for Gulf operations and projects.
  • Ensure that the processes for design and construction of new facilities and the modification and maintenance of existing facilities meet the requirements of Engineering Standards and DOT requirements.
  • Creates procedures for repairs, relocations, removal, and abandonment of pipelines.
  • Ensure projects incorporate applicable local standards and regulatory requirements and the application of approved procedures in every project involving contractors.
  • Provide engineering support for hydrotests, lLl inspections (smart pig) and pipeline repairs.
  • Perform risk assessments and manage engineering aspects of significant, temporary, and permanent changes.
  • Analyze relevant data and perform stress and hydraulic analyses for pipelines.
  • Ensure the application of approved procedures is adhered to by contractors on each project.
  • Ensure that the Engineering aspects of all significant changes are risk assessed and managed.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The employee must be capable of climbing staircases at jobsites (production platforms, tanks, etc.)
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time and use a computer to complete tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Potential for daily driving of a company vehicle with occasional trips taking up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Exposure to inclement weather that can range from less than 20 degrees up to 100+ degrees.
Education and Basic Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or Science Degree from an accredited college required.
  • Licensed or chartered professional engineer a plus.
  • Must be able to successfully pass Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and ongoing screening.
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined technical experience in engineering, maintenance, and offshore operations
  • Possess strong knowledge of Pipeline operating and regulatory requirements with a preference for background knowledge of DOT regulations and BSEE requirements.
