Overview

Our client is seeking a professional who bridges pipeline construction expertise with data governance and technology integration. This role will oversee construction and inspection activities for capital projects across the company’s nationwide pipeline and facility network, while also leading efforts to digitize, standardize, and govern asset data.

The team is responsible for data governance – standardizing asset data across the organization. With approximately 130,000 miles of pipeline assets, accurate asset data is business-critical. Current challenges include poor asset data collection practices, especially with engineering drawings and documents. The urgency has grown following completion of a recent $5B pipeline contract that added thousands of new assets which existing processes cannot efficiently capture or manage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in project design, constructability reviews, and material procurement.
  • Oversee construction activities, contractors, inspectors, and compliance with client standards.
  • Manage inspection teams, ensuring compliance with the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Coordinate with project engineers on scope/design changes and manage the change order process.
  • Oversee collection and preparation of project closeout documentation.
  • Ensure project objectives are met during construction including safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and cost.
Data Governance & Technology Integration Responsibilities
  • Review, interpret, and standardize P&ID drawings and related engineering documentation.
  • Apply QA/QC methods to ensure clean, accurate, and validated asset data.
  • Support the standardization of systems and data flows across capital projects.
  • Use OCR/ICR and digital solutions to capture, digitize, and validate construction and engineering data.
  • Draft technical documentation and establish data flow best practices for long-term asset management.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate field data into enterprise systems.
Candidate Profile
  • Engineering or construction background with a strong interest in technology and data management.
  • Hands-on experience with P&ID drawings and pipeline construction.
  • 5+ years of midstream oil & gas experience is required (pipeline or transportation focus).
  • Preferred experience:
  • Capturing handwritten notes or annotations on pipeline inspection sheets and converting them into digital data.
  • Converting a scanned engineering drawing into searchable text so you can extract equipment IDs.
  • Strong QA/QC mindset with proven ability to clean, standardize, and govern large datasets.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and PSM requirements across pipeline/facility operations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro/Bluebeam, and familiarity with data management tools.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Benefits
  • Medical Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) with employer contribution match
