Job summary

Johnson-Davis Inc. is seeking experienced Pipelayers, Tailmen, and Skilled laborers to lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. The team will install and repair sewer and water pipe systems and position them precisely with lasers and instruments.

Candidates should have direct underground utilities experience and be able to work with foremen and operators on busy construction sites. Johnson-Davis offers a full benefits package and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Requires prior direct underground utilities (sewer, main line water, drainage) experience.
• Experience with pipe alignment and bedding and ability to read site signals.

Responsibilities

• Install/repair sanitary sewers, storm water sewer structures or pipe systems.
• Align and position pipe to prepare them for welding or sealing.
• Ensure grading and bedding is at proper elevation before culverts are installed.
• Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
• Directs and communicates with excavation operator during pipe installation.
• Holds and guides pipe into position checked by laser or instrument.
• Assist Foreman, Supervisors, and other construction site workers with other various tasks.
