Position Summary:

The Pipelayer is a skilled position involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of underground systems.

Essential Functions:

1. Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair of underground work.
2. Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of underground distribution.
3. Operate and maintain company equipment, e.g., Backhoe.
4. Properly install and remove PPE and cover up.
5. Understand underground services, infrastructure, and duct banks.
6. Maintain a safety-first mentality and wear personal protective equipment.
7. Keep the shop and yard areas organized and clean.
8. Clean trucks, equipment, and tools.
9. Promote safety practices consistently.
10. Perform other related work as required to complete the job.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 1-3 years of experience preferred.
2. Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
3. Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
4. Possess a Driver License for at least 5 years in Texas; CDL preferred but not required.
5. Demonstrate safe driving techniques.
6. Able to lift over 50 lbs.
7. Work outside frequently in inclement weather.
8. Willing to work overtime when requested.
9. Use hand tools on a continuous basis.
10. Be exposed to dirt and power tools daily.
11. Knowledge of underground utility locates is a plus.
12. Identify obstacles that could hinder safety or production.
13. Work in various locations for extended periods when required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms regularly.

Work Environment:

Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions. Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, often in loud environments.
