Job summary

GreenWood, Inc. is actively recruiting for a Pipefitter Journeyman at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This Regular Full-Time, non-exempt role is on-site, with a 40-hour workweek (Mon-Thu 7:00am-5:30pm) and occasional overtime.

The candidate will assemble, inspect, test, and repair pipe systems and ensure proper alignment per blueprints. Safety-first culture is required. Essential duties include performing tests, maintaining tools, and participating in toolbox talks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial pipe systems, testing processes, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience supporting a positive safety culture.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation(s).

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, inspects, tests, and repairs pipe systems used to control plant operations.
  • Ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints or diagrams.
  • Performs inspections to determine structural and operational soundness and detect abnormalities.
  • Tests to locate defective components using test equipment and manuals.
  • Conducts tests on new components and systems based on test plans.
  • Uses and maintains required hand tools.
  • Participates in daily toolbox discussions/meetings.
  • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safety-first mindset.
  • Designation as a safety-sensitive position.

Job Description

GreenWood, Inc. is now actively recruiting applicants for our Pipefitter Journeyman position. We are looking for applicants who are interested in a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week and occasional overtime as needed. We are currently looking for an applicant who is interested in a position without the need to travel. GreenWood does not offer per diem at this job site.


The Pipefitter Journeyman is responsible for performing the daily operations of, and the preparation, assembling, and repairs of all pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures.


Position Responsibilities - Essential


  • Assembles, inspects, tests, and repairs pipe systems used to control plant operations

  • Ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, schematics, or instructions

  • Performs inspections of completed pipe system and components todeterminestructural and operational soundness and to detect abnormal fluctuations

  • Performs tests tolocatedefective components in systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals

  • Conducts tests on new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria asestablishedby the policies and procedures and/or written test plans

  • Ability to use,maintainand possess required hand tools necessary to perform task assigned

  • Participates in daily toolbox discussions/meetings

  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities

  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood hasdesignatedthis as a “safety-sensitive” position.
