Job summary

OxyChem is seeking an experienced Pipefitter for our Wichita, Kansas facility. The role focuses on laying out, installing, and maintaining pipe systems in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment. You will read P&IDs, work orders, and specifications to ensure precise execution.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of industrial pipefitting experience, ability to work overtime or on-call, and a commitment to safety and teamwork in a critical operations setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years as a pipefitter in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and pipe support systems.
• Cuts and treads pipe using industrial equipment.
• Work with various types of pipe and fittings including fibercast piping.
• Read, study, and interpret job specification plans, and P&IDs, to gain an understanding of work to be done.
• Must be able to read work orders to see what work has been scheduled.
• Rigs and moves heavy steel and assist crane operator, welders etc.
