Job summary

Wood is currently sourcing Pipefitter apprentices in Freeport, TX. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing and maintaining piping systems and related equipment for various industrial applications.

Candidates must be able to read and interpret instructions and will work under supervision as they gain hands-on experience. Typical qualifications include 2+ years of field experience in the craft, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass pre-employment

• Typically 2 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently.

• Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Works under immediate supervision.

• Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

Qualifications

• Typically 2 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently.
• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and fit test.
