Job summary

GableTek is seeking experienced Industrial Pipefitters for an automotive automation project in Novi, MI. The role involves reading drawings, fabricating and installing piping for robotic cells and automated equipment.

The ideal candidate will read schematics, assemble piping headers, and install piping for robots and tooling, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial pipefitting within machine tool manufacturing or automotive automation.
• Experience piping industrial robots and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Experience building headers, threading pipe, installing pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of valve packs, manifolds, service stands, and lockout valves.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read schematic drawings, mechanical blueprints, and BOMs.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install piping headers.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to specs.
• Install service stands, lockout valves, and related piping components.
• Install and route piping for industrial robots and tooling.
• Pipe sealer equipment and other industrial automation machinery.
• Prepare and install valve packs, manifolds, and related components.
• Run hoses and dress robotic tooling per customer specs.
• Drill, tap, and ream holes as required.
• Safely operate hand tools and fabrication equipment.
• Ensure piping installations meet quality, safety, and project specs.

Job Description

GableTek is seeking experienced Industrial Pipefitters for an automotive automation project in Novi, MI. Qualified candidates must have hands-on experience with industrial pipefitting, robotic automation systems, and machine tool manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with little to no supervision, reading mechanical drawings and schematics to install and assemble piping systems for robotic cells, tooling, and automated manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret schematic drawings, mechanical blueprints, and bills of materials (BOM).

• Fabricate, assemble, and install piping headers.

• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to specifications.

• Install service stands, lockout valves, and related piping components.

• Install and route piping for industrial robots, robotic tooling, and automated assembly systems.

• Pipe sealer equipment and other industrial automation machinery.

• Prepare and install valve packs, manifolds, and associated components.

• Run hoses and properly dress robotic tooling according to customer specifications.

• Drill, tap, and ream holes as required for installation.

• Safely operate hand tools, drill presses, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.

• Ensure piping installations meet quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Previous industrial pipefitting experience in a machine tool manufacturing or automotive automation environment.

• Experience piping industrial robots, robotic tooling, and automated manufacturing equipment.

• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.

• Experience building headers, threading pipe, and installing pneumatic systems.

• Knowledge of valve packs, manifolds, service stands, and lockout valves.

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or supervision.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Must have reliable transportation and required personal tools.
