Job summary

Boiler Supply Company in Knoxville, TN is seeking a skilled pipefitter to install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems for water, steam, air, and other fluids.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, measure and cut pipes, thread and bend using hand and power tools, install and test systems, and work with welders and other trades on industrial or commercial sites. Traveling is required and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of pipefitting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs to determine layout requirements.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools.
• Install and assemble piping systems, valves, fittings, and fixtures.
• Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and proper operation.
• Repair and maintain existing piping systems and equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Collaborate with welders, plumbers, and other trades on job sites.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements


2. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools


3. Install and assemble piping systems, valves, fittings, and fixtures


4. Inspect and test piping systems for leaks and proper operation


5. Repair and maintain existing piping systems and equipment


6. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes

Qualifications

Requirements

1. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. from floor to waist and from waist to overhead


2. Ability to climb and use ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts


3. Ability to stand for 6+ hours per day


4. Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot and cold)


5. Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule


6. Ability to successfully pass a drug test and background check
