Job summary

US United States Fleet Forces Command is seeking qualified pipefitters capable of supporting piping repair, installation, and maintenance at the Kings Bay vicinity. The role emphasizes reading plans and following technical specifications while working mostly without direct supervision.

Ideal candidates will assist journey-level workers, gain familiarity with pipefitting tools, and participate in troubleshooting and installation tasks related to tank level indicators and related systems.

Qualifications

• Screen-out element determines minimum eligibility: ability to work without more than normal supervision.
• Experience with piping repair and installation is required or strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey-level pipefitters with assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
• Learn proper use of tools and shop equipment used in the pipefitting trade.
• Assist journey-level pipefitters in troubleshooting and installing tank level indicators.

• Ability to apply knowledge of technical practices related to piping repair and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and technical specifications to perform assigned work.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of equipment, components, and materials associated with pipefitting operations.
• Ability to fabricate piping system assemblies by cutting, bending, brazing, and beveling.
• Ability to prepare equipment and components for subsequent installation.

WG-08

• Ability to assist journey-level pipefitters with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
• Ability to learn the proper use of tools and shop equipment associated with the pipefitting trade.
• Ability to use a variety of pipefitting tools, including grinders, brazing torches, measuring tools, and hydraulic pipe benders under supervision.
• Ability to assist journey-level pipefitters in troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and installing tank level indicators.
