Job summary

MRC Global in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Warehouse Associate to maintain stocked inventory, pull material, load trucks, and assist with receiving new arrivals. The role requires basic forklift use, attention to safety, and the ability to follow company procedures and software systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record.
• Two years of warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of materials: pipes, valves, fittings, electrical materials.
• Ability to learn MRC Global software and scanners.
• Certified to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Learn MRC Global products, procedures, and warehouse software.
• Unload materials from vendor trucks and inspect quality.
• Assist in inventory audits and maintain yard inventory.
• Stock and transfer materials to shelves, bins, or bundles.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Move materials to shops for modifications.
• Pull orders for delivery and stock transfers.
• Load goods onto trucks using forklift or cranes.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness per OSHA and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Report hazards or injuries immediately.

Job Purpose

Maintain the flow of stocked and delivered inventory in pipe yard by pulling material (includes company-wide range of pipe, valves, and fittings) pulling and assisting with loading material onto trucks and placing new material arrivals of pipe into yard or bins.

Responsibilities

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Learn MRC Global products, procedures, and processes associated with the warehouse area and MRC Global-specific software system.
• Unload material, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks; inspect material for minimum MRC Global quality requirements.
• Maintain site inventory by assisting in inventory audits.
• Stock and transfer material, tools, and equipment to appropriate shelf, bin, rack, or pipe bundle by a predetermined sequence, including bin location, size, type, style, and length.
• Mark material with correct identifying information.
• Transfer material to and from the shops for modification purposes.
• Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer.
• Load onto the correct truck or transfer to the packing area using a forklift, overhead crane, and heavy equipment.
• Maintain warehouse/pipe yard cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and MRC Global safety policies.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.
• Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.

Qualifications

Any combination of requirements that provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.

• High school diploma or a GED (General Education Degree).
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable record at all times.
• Two years of warehouse experience.
• Working knowledge of materials and products, e.g., pipes, valves, fittings, and electrical materials.
• Ability to learn MRC Global-specific software and MRC Global scanners.
• Certified on, or have the ability to become certified, and adequately operate forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and other warehouse equipment.
• Establish working rapport with local management, corporate employees, and other branch personnel using proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and shift work.

Additional Qualifications

• Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
• Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, to understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.
• Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
