Job summary

MRC Global in Atlanta, GA is seeking a dependable warehouse associate to maintain stocked inventory in the pipe yard. You will pull material (pipes, valves, fittings) for orders, load trucks, and help with new arrivals, using forklifts and cranes as needed.

You'll support inventory audits, follow OSHA safety policies, and learn MRC Global software and scanners to accurately track items. A valid driver’s license and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of warehouse experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Forklift and overhead crane certification or ability to become certified.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfers.
• Load material onto trucks and unload at destination using forklift or crane.
• Maintain inventory by conducting audits.
• Keep warehouse clean and safe per OSHA policies.
• Learn and use MRC Global-specific software and scanners.
• Report hazards or injuries immediately.

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.Job PurposeMaintain the flow of stocked and delivered inventory in pipe yard by pulling material (includes company-wide range of pipe, valves, and fittings) pulling and assisting with loading material onto trucks and placing new material arrivals of pipe into yard or bins.ResponsibilitiesIndividual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.Learn MRC Global products, procedures, and processes associated with the warehouse area and MRC Global-specific software system.Unload material, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks; inspect material for minimum MRC Global quality requirements.Maintain site inventory by assisting in inventory audits.Stock and transfer material, tools, and equipment to appropriate shelf, bin, rack, or pipe bundle by a predetermined sequence, including bin location, size, type, style, and length.Mark material with correct identifying information.Transfer material to and from the shops for modification purposes.Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer.Load onto the correct truck or transfer to the packing area using a forklift, overhead crane, and heavy equipment.Maintain warehouse/pipe yard cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and MRC Global safety policies.Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.QualificationsAny combination of requirements that provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.High school diploma or a GED (General Education Degree).Must have a current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable record at all times.Two years of warehouse experience.Working knowledge of materials and products, e.g., pipes, valves, fittings, and electrical materials.Ability to learn MRC Global-specific software and MRC Global scanners.Certified on, or have the ability to become certified, and adequately operate forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and other warehouse equipment.Establish working rapport with local management, corporate employees, and other branch personnel using proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills.Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and shift work.Additional QualificationsMust have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, to understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.Working ConditionsFor position-specific details regarding the physical and mental demands and working conditions, contact Human Resources.Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.California Employee Data Collection Notice
