Job summary

TK Concrete Inc. in Pella, IA is seeking an Underground Pipework Crew member to install, maintain, and repair underground piping for water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain systems, including trench work and backfill.

You will operate hand and power tools, set up braces, install manholes, valves, hydrants, and coordinate with the foreman and project manager. The role requires physical stamina and strict safety adherence; Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to meet physical demands including long walking/standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects.
• Experience with trench work and utility installations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain piping.
• Set up and teardown braces for trench side support.
• Install/adjust manholes, catch basins, valves, and hydrants.
• Operate tools and heavy equipment in a safe manner.
• Coordinate with crew foreman and project manager.

Job description

An Underground Pipework Crew isresponsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground pipelines and utility systems.This includes tasks like excavating trenches, laying pipes, connecting them, and ensuring proper backfill and compaction.They also handle tasks like operating heavy machinery, coordinating with other crew members, and adhering to strict safety regulations.

Must be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.

Safely work in trenches.

Assist in setting/teardown of brace to support side of excavations.

Install all types of water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain piping

Install/adjust manholes, catch basins, valves, and hydrants.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position such as walk/stand for long periods, lift, push, pull and carry heavy objects.

Reports to: Pipe Work & Underground Crew Foreman, Project Manager, President.

Work Week: Monday - Friday and Saturdays as needed.
