Job summary

Thorpe Plant Services, Inc. in California’s Nipton area seeks a qualified welder to join our shop team. You will set up, maintain, and break down welding equipment and verify specifications from blueprints.

You will read schematics, work safely with PPE, keep an orderly on-site workplace, and perform MIG and TIG welding with accuracy to ensure component quality. Strong candidates have 5+ years welding experience and a high school diploma or equivalent; welding certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• High level of proficiency in MIG and TIG welding
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects throughout shifts

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
