Job summary

Kelso Industries in Duncan, SC is seeking skilled Welders to support fabrications of piping systems and mechanical assemblies. You will perform GTAW (TIG) welds to drawings, specifications, and WPS, with a strong emphasis on safety and production standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of pipe welding experience, can read welding symbols, and will operate welding equipment while keeping a clean, organized work area and communicating with fitters and QC to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pipe welding experience.
  • Ability to read welding symbols and WPS documents.
  • GTAW (TIG) welds on carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Experience with GMAW and FCAW processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping.
  • Welds to drawings, WPS, and customer specifications.
  • Read isometric drawings, spool sheets, and welding symbols.
  • Prepare, fit, and weld pipe to required specifications.
  • Perform additional welding processes including GMAW and FCAW as needed.
  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
  • Maintain proper use of welding equipment and tools.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop protocols.
  • Communicate with supervisors, QC, and fitters to ensure production flow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Welders to support fabrication of piping systems and mechanical assemblies. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, and WPS requirements. Welders must demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and production standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel piping
  • Complete welds in accordance with WPS, drawings, and customer specifications
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, spool sheets, and welding symbols
  • Prepare, fit, and weld pipe to required specifications
  • Perform additional welding processes including GMAW and FCAW as needed
  • Inspect welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards
  • Maintain proper use of welding equipment and tools
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and shop protocols
  • Communicate with supervisors, QC, and fitters to ensure production flow
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Additional Duties
  • Assist other departments as needed to support production flow
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency efforts
  • Perform basic equipment and tool inspections
  • Support production deadlines and workflow demands
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of pipe welding experience
  • Must pass:
    • 2” carbon monster coupon in 6G position
    • 2” schedule 10 stainless steel test in 6G
    • GTAW (TIG) all the way out
    • Additional testing includes GMAW and FCAW in 6G on 6” carbon pipe
  • Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and WPS documents
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment when .
  • Experience in Automatic Welding
  • Ability to understand Radiographic Testing overlays

  • Work closely with fitters, QC, and supervisors
  • Maintain strong communication to ensure efficiency of workflow
  • Support a team-oriented, safety-first culture
