GreenWood, Inc. in Augusta, GA is seeking a Pipe Welder to perform weld preparation and finishing per customer drawings and specifications, including rigging and field measurements. The ideal candidate will read P&IDs and isometric drawings and have 2–5 years of pipe welding experience.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-5 years of experience in various forms of pipe welding.
• Must have work experience and technical knowledge and skills in gas, arc, shielded, and non-shielded metal arc welding
• Must be able to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols
• Must have excellent attention to detail, a focus on accuracy, and a sense of urgency
• Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the related field
• Must demonstrate a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
• Must rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• Must be able to complete and pass a preplacement welding test
• Completion of an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty preferred

The Pipe Welder is responsible for various types of weld preparation and finishing operations in order to manufacture a product per the customer drawings, specifications, or other form of instruction. In addition, he/she will be involved with machnical maintenance such as pulling valves and pumps. Candidates must have the ability to read P&IDs and Isometric drawings. Experience with rigging and field measurements a must.
