Job summary

Loenbro's Riggs Fabrication Facility in Chandler, AZ, is seeking a Pipe Welder to fit and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping for industrial projects. You will read drawings, follow weld procedures, and deliver high-quality welds that meet project specs.

The role requires 3+ years of welding experience, ability to pass company tests, and proficiency with FCAW and GMAW. Safety, teamwork, and reliability are essential as you contribute to a strong fabrication team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial pipe welding experience.
  • Ability to pass Loenbro welding tests and project qualifications.
  • 2G,3G GMAW/FCAW minimum requirements; 6G preferred.
  • 6G GTAW/SMAW is helpful but not required.
  • Strong weld symbols and fabrication drawings understanding.
  • Knowledge of pipe fabrication, fit-up tolerances, and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fabrication shop.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Fit and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, spool sheets and weld procedures.
  • Fabricate and weld carbon steel process piping.
  • Inspect materials and welds for quality and conformance to specs.
  • Operate grinders, torches, beveling equipment and other tools safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with safety policies, procedures and quality standards.

Reports To: Fabrication Manager

Position Summary:

The Pipe Welder is responsible for fitting and welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems used in industrial and construction projects. This position requires the ability to work safely, read and interpret drawings, and produce high-quality welds that meet applicable codes, specifications, and customer requirements.

  • Perform FCAW, and GMAW welding processes as required.
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, spool sheets, and weld procedures.
  • Fabricate and weld carbon steel process piping
  • Inspect materials and completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Operate grinders, torches, beveling equipment, and other fabrication tools safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of industrial pipe welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a Loenbro welding test and applicable project weld qualifications.
  • 2G,3G GMAW/FCAW minimum requirements; 6G preferred
  • 6G GTAW/SMAW helpful, not required
  • Strong understanding of weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of pipe fabrication, fit-up tolerances, and welding procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in industrial, power, semiconductor, mining, or manufacturing environments.
  • Current welding certifications or documented weld qualifications.
  • Forklift, aerial lift, or rigging experience

Preferred:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be a quick learner and motivated.
  • Must be able to work as a team and solve problems.
