Job summary

The H&K Group is seeking an Experienced Pipe Laborer for its Maryland Division/HTI. The role involves hands-on heavy civil construction tasks on utility and pipe projects in a field environment.

Responsibilities include setting up daily operations, measuring grades, pipe installation, and concrete work. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience, with strong communication and safety PPE discipline.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience.
• Experience with underground utilities (storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to field conditions.
• Ability to fit test and use PPE as needed.
• Must meet physical requirements (lifting etc.).

Responsibilities

• Acquire tools for daily operations.
• Measure distances, drive stakes, and stretch lines.
• Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
• Signal equipment operators for alignment and grade compliance.
• Level earth to grade specifications and mix concrete.
• Finish poured concrete and prepare pipe for connections.
• Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
• Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
