Job summary

Victaulic in West Jordan, UT is seeking a Sandblaster to prepare pipe surfaces for coating by removing rust, scale and contaminants. You will inspect surfaces before and after blasting, apply protective coverings to areas not blasted, and operate sandblasting equipment in a fast-paced coatings team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, good verbal and written communication, basic computer literacy, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety; bilingual abilities

• Strong understanding of safety protocols and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Remove rust, scale, old coatings, and other contaminants from pipe surfaces to ensure a uniform texture for coating.
• Inspect pipe surfaces before and after blasting to verify removal and coating adhesion standards.
• Apply protective coverings to threaded ends and other areas that shouldn't be blasted.
• Operate sandblasting machines, compressors, and related equipment; adjust settings based on material and finish.
• Manage dust and debris control and dispose of used abrasive materials safely.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE; secure work area from hazards.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and set up blasting area with proper scaffolding or supports.
• Keep records of work performed (pipe types blasted, duration, issues).
