Job summary

Zachry Underground & Utility Services, a division of Zachry Construction Corporation, is seeking skilled Pipe Layer professionals to construct and connect storm or sanitation sewer and water mains across job sites in the United States. The role requires trench prep, pipe alignment, and safe operation of trenching tools in varying conditions.

Materials include PVC, metal, HDPE, and fiberglass. Candidates should have 3–5 years of water/sewer utility construction experience, ability to work days,

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in water and sewer utility construction.
  • Experience setting up to 48" sewer and installing fiberglass manholes.
  • Experience with bypass pumping preferred.
  • Knowledge of PVC, metal, HDPE, or fiberglass pipes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up lasers with grades and verify slopes on drawings.
  • Configure pipe routes, align pipeline sections, and ensure proper spacing and alignment.
  • Grade trenches or culverts and install manholes, valves, and fittings.
  • Seal joints and ensure proper fit and alignment using grade rods or transit levels.
  • Cover installed pipes with soil or other materials to secure them in place.
  • Operate hand and power tools for trenching and installation.
