Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking an ambitious pipe layer to join our elite team in Virginia. The role involves laying pipe for sanitary storm sewers and water mains, assisting with excavation, and installing piping with ductile iron and stainless steel.

You will follow safety protocols, use pipe lasers, and work under the Field Manager's instructions to complete installations. Expect a demanding physical role with opportunities to learn and grow within a family-like company culture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience on construction sites.
• GED/High School diploma or related work experience.
• Trade School a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lay pipe for sanitary storm sewers and water mains.
• Assist in excavation, trenching, and backfilling per safety procedures.
• Install piping - flanged ductile iron and stainless steel press-fit.
• Set up and use of pipe lasers; knowledge of storm and sanitary pipe installation.
• Follow all site safety protocols and use trench boxes correctly.
• Complete installations using instructions from the Field Manager.
• Be comfortable working at heights and using fall protection.
• Pipe cutting with grinders and abrasive blades and other tools.
• Communicate with the equipment operator for pipe alignment and depth.

Education

GED/High School diploma or related work experience

Trade School a plus
