Job summary

Job description

Salary based on the depth of construction experience - Salary Range - $42,000 to $65,000

Candidates for the Pipe Layer/Lead Man position should havethe skills and knowledge to perform the following:

Responsible for the installation of various types of underground piping. (examples: ductile iron, pvc, galv’d steel, black steel,and concrete). Must be able to carry and maintain grade using pipe laserequipment. Responsible for grade elevation and reading blueprints & complexdiagrams. Responsible for the installation and proper use of trench shoringequipment. Trench safety certification is a plus.

Experience and Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience inthe field of underground pipe utilities.
• Must be able to properly pothole andassist excavator operator with uncovering existing underground utilities.
• Mustbe able to measure and safely cut various types of pipe. Must be able to liftand carry 80 lbs.
• Strong Supervisory and communicative skills(verbal and written).
• Valid driver’s license and a clean drivingrecord.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, andcustomer satisfaction.
• Must have a safety-first attitude. Strictadherence to safety requirements and procedures is required
• Display a professional and courteous attitude toco-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Must be willing to travel and work away fromhome when required.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends whennecessary.
• A high school or general education degree (GED)is preferred.

On-the-job training is available to advance a pipe layerscareer.
