Overview

Archer Wright JV is currently seeking a Pipe Layer for the TSENC/I-26 Downtown Connector, located in Asheville, NC. The Pipe Layer will perform pipe-laying tasks involving physical labor (laying, joining, wrapping, sealing) on construction jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects; may operate hand and/or power tools as needed; may prepare site and assist with other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

• Lays, joins, aligns, wraps, and seals pipe sections, clay, concrete, and other types of pipe for water/gas main, sanitary sewer, telephone/electrical conduits.
• Works with crew members and operates a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as directed by management.
• Performs tasks including physical labor as instructed by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year verifiable experience.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
