Job summary

Carolina Pipe Fabrication, LLC in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled Fitter – Pipe Shop to join our growing team. If you are an experienced pipefitter looking to advance your career and contribute to HVAC/Mechanical projects, this is an opportunity you should explore.

You will work with hand and power tools, read blueprints, install pipe and hangers, and operate grooving equipment. The position requires strict safety adherence, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Three years of field pipefitting experience including soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, installing hangers and carbon steel pipe up to 24".
• Must have own hand tools required for the position.
• Must be able to identify and install pipe grades and systems.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all work related to HVAC/Mechanical/Industrial projects.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the trade as needed.
• Vitaulic grooving machine, overhead hoists, and general pipe fitting tools.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with shop foreman and follow direction.
• Other duties as assigned by the Company.

Requirements

• Three years of field pipefitting experience to include all of the following: soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, installing hangers as well as carbon steel pipe (up to 24")

• Ability to read blueprints
• Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).
• Material Handling:? lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs. frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs., placing the position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC).Required Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Work Environment:

Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places.
