Job summary

Crowder is seeking a pipe fitter helper to support lay out, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping and systems for industrial projects in the Durham area. Responsibilities include assisting crews and cutting pipe under supervision, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires at least 5 years of verifiable pipe fitter helper experience in industrial construction, with a willingness to travel to multi-state opportunities and pass a drug test.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of verifiable pipe fitter helper experience in industrial construction.
• Able to pass a drug test and legally eligible to work in the US.
• Must own transportation to job sites and provide own hand tools (excluding power tools).
• Comfortable working at heights and following supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist pipe fitting crews with layout, fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping systems.
• Assist in cutting pipe (metal and non-metal) using saws, torches, and pipe machines per supervision formulas.
• Report obstructions or structural weaknesses in materials to leaders.

Primary Function: Assist pipe fitting crews with l ay out, fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping and systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and/or industrial processing systems.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist crew in the assembly and installation of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Assist in cutting pipe (metal and non-metal), using saws, torches, and pipe machines using formulas given by supervision.
• Report the presence of obstructions or apparent structural weaknesses in materials to assigned leaders.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:

• Must have at least 5 years of verifiable experience as a pipe fitter helper in industrial construction.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy according to team lead instructions.
• Follow instructions and ask questions when needed.
• Work at heights with comfort and ease.
• Use logical step-by-step procedures in work.
