Job summary

Allan Myers Inc. in Virginia is seeking a Pipe Field Manager to oversee utility operations on construction sites, including water, sewer and drainage systems.

You will supervise crews, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, interface with clients and inspectors, and ensure safety and project schedules in alignment with Allan Myers Safety Program. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, OSHA 10, and several years in civil construction with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required (continuing education in construction highly desirable).
  • Minimum 2 years of construction experience in at least one trade discipline (i.e., excavation, pipe, concrete, or paving) with one or more years construction supervisory experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10 hour required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all pipe installation activities.
  • Supervise hourly crewmembers and plan manpower and equipment.
  • Manage deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, profit, scheduling compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow Allan Myers Safety Program including preplanning to identify conditions and exposures, proper safety and personal protective equipment and accident investigation and reporting.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other Field Managers, Superintendents, and the customer to implement successful project plans.
  • Provide on the job training to crewmembers for assigned tasks.
  • Communicate performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety to crews and ensures progress towards expectations.
  • Administrate timely and accurate documentation for project-related activities including change orders, time and materials, purchase orders, daily job control reports and receiving slips/invoices.

Responsibilities

The Pipe Field Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of utility operations, including water, sewer, and drainage, on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, particularly in underground utilities, and will be skilled at managing complex site and civil projects from start to finish. This role requires someone who can take ownership of their work, make informed decisions, and coordinate with and direct the activities of all job site crews, subcontractors, and material and equipment providers. Additionally, the candidate must effectively interface with clients, inspectors, regulatory representatives, and other key individuals within the organization.

  • Demonstrates technical proficiency in multiple aspects of pipe installation.

Salary Range: $74,000 - $100,000, based on experience.
