Job summary

Sirius Staffing is seeking a mid-level to senior P&ID Designer to develop and update P&IDs and execute piping/mechanical design on brownfield and greenfield process units. Location is Texas, onsite, with a 60–75 USD/hr contract rate.

The role requires 5+ years of piping/mechanical design experience in chemical/oil and gas, proficiency with 3D modeling, and knowledge of P&ID standards (PIP, DIN) and ASME B31.3. Field verification and cross-disciplinary collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Develop P&IDs starting from plot plan and equipment layout.
• Perform field work such as sketches and measurements to update 3D models and piping isometrics.
• Use 3D laser scans for piping design in brownfield plants.
• Communicate with a multidisciplinary project team to develop and update project P&IDs.

Job description

Sirius Staffing is hiring a mid-level to senior experienced P ipe D esigner to develop and update P&IDs and execute piping/mechanical design on brownfield and greenfield process units.

Compensation: $60-$75/hr BOE

Schedule: Mon - Friday -40 hours/week (onsite)

Roles and Responsibilities

• Draft and update P&IDs based on redline markups
• Use 3D modeling software to execute piping/mechanical design for both brownfield and greenfield process units
• Use the PFD (Process Flow Diagram) to further develop a P&ID and plant layout
• Field walk and verify P&IDs in existing brownfield process units
• Develop P&IDs by starting with a plot plan, equipment layout, and field walking to sketch P&IDs based on the physical elements of the plant, such as pipelines, valves, instruments, equipment, and other miscellaneous inline components
• Perform field work such as field sketches, field measurements, and field verification to incorporate the data into 3D models and piping isometrics
• Use 3D laser scans for piping design in brownfield process plants
• Communicate within a multidisciplinary project team to develop and update project P&IDs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 or more years (Mid-Level to Senior) experience and background in P iping/ M echanical design in the chemical/oil and gas industries
• Experience using 3D modeling software to execute piping/mechanical design for both brownfield and greenfield process units
• Experience with and knowledge of industry standards for P&IDs, such as PIP and DIN
• Experience with and knowledge of industry standards for process piping design, including ASME B31.3
• Experience using 3D laser scans for piping design in brownfield process plants
• Ability to perform field work such as field sketches, field measurements, and field verification to incorporate the data into 3D models and piping isometrics
• Strong communication skills within a multidisciplinary project team to develop and update project P&IDs
