Job summary

CybSafe in Baltimore, MD seeks a Process Engineer to bridge R&D and the execution organization as a novel graphite-from-natural gas process scales from bench to commercial production. You will apply mass and energy balances, equipment sizing logic, safety and operability considerations, and scale-up principles to guide experiments toward industrially executable designs.

This hands-on role covers flowsheet development, PFDs, mass/energy balances, and collaboration with R&D, safety, procurement,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience in development and capital projects.
• Experience developing PFDs and P&IDs from early data.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and reaction kinetics in solid/gas systems.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for scientists and field personnel.
• Willingness to travel and work lab, P&ID reviews, and construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary mass and energy balances from lab data.
• Own development of the integrated Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Basis of Design.
• Lead or support design reviews (P&ID, 3D model) and safety analyses.
• Review vendor equipment proposals for technical compliance.
• Support procurement with technical input during RFQs and clarifications.
• Provide site support during construction and commissioning.
