Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an in-house Pilot to operate various aircraft on domestic and international missions from local airports. You will be responsible for flight planning, performance, weight and balance, and passenger briefings in accordance with company policies and regulations.

Applicants must hold a First class medical certificate, have 3,000+ hours total flight time, and possess a HS diploma or equivalency. Boeing 737 and G650 type ratings are preferred, with 500+ hours time in type.

Job description

PILOT

SpaceX is looking for an in-house pilot for various aircraft. You will have the opportunity to fly both domestically and internationally from local airports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure aircraft ground servicing items such as fuel, oil, oxygen, etc. are monitored and accomplished according to standard operating procedures
  • Complete flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment
  • Complete passenger briefings according to company policy and regulation
  • Utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations briefing methodology for briefings and to mitigate operational risks
  • Maintain a current first class medical certificate
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3,000+ hours total flight time
  • First class medical certificate
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Boeing 737 type rating
  • G650 type rating
  • 500+ hours time in type
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Within 2-4 hour travel distance to LAX
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis
  • Current passport
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
