Job summary

Village Health Clubs & Spas is seeking a Pilates Reformer instructor in Scottsdale, AZ. The role focuses on guiding members with up-to-date techniques and personalised programs to maximize results.

Applicants should have current Pilates certification and at least two years of reformer/ Cadillac experience, with strong fitness programming skills and the ability to promote training packages. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Job Summary

Specialize in instructing members on a personal level using up‑to‑date techniques and methods to ensure proper use of Pilates Reformer training equipment.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

• Attract and retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service and participating with the team toward member retention goals.
• Provide clients with the highest level of professionalism and dedication through accurate fitness evaluations and effective comprehensive program designs to help members achieve results and ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program.
• Assist with integrating new members into the club, which includes fostering a fitness lifestyle through education and conducting fitness consultations to assess and recommend Pilates Reformer training programs.
• Produce Pilates Reformer training revenue.
• Lead by example, consistently conveying a positive attitude, passion, and pride in their work.
• Develop a personal rapport with members and clients, motivating them to participate in fitness programs.
• Educate members on current health and fitness issues and trends.
• Interact with employees, members, and guests in a manner aligned with the People, Places and Programs components of the Village Standards.
• Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring the area is restored to a condition of cleanliness after each training session, wiping down the area with gym wipes, and performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills Required

• Current national accredited Pilates training and certification.
• At least two years of experience in full reformer, Cadillac, and chair certification.
• Strong experience in fitness programming.
• Ability to promote/sell Pilates Reformer training packages.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to adhere to a flexible schedule and work independently.
• Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through company training.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Required to maintain a physical presence within the Village to perform assigned duties.
• Must be able to successfully pass a background check.

Required Abilities

• Frequent standing, walking, stretching, reaching, grasping, bending and kneeling. Sitting for some periods.
• Substantial repetitive movements of legs, feet, arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word, conveying detailed or important spoken instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Receiving detailed information through written and oral communication.

Physical Requirement

• Position requires frequent walking, standing, stretching, and bending daily.
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Involves physical movements required to teach Pilates and participate in activities related to membership events and programs.

Visual Requirement

• Close visual acuity to observe and perform activities to teach Pilates.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an athletic club environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and potentially hot.
