Job summary

Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse role combines advanced nursing skills with customer-facing interactions to create a safe, joyful ear-piercing experience. The nurse reports to the Studio Manager and helps maintain Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards while ensuring a celebratory atmosphere.

The position supports operations, stays compliant with safety guidelines, and participates in training and mentoring newly licensed nurses. Great for those who enjoy clinical care with a retail environment.

Rowan has recreated the ear‑piercing experience with safety, clinical expertise, and a celebratory atmosphere. Every piercing is performed by licensed nurses following Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standard® and paired with hypoallergenic products to ensure a clean, safe, and memorable experience.

About This Role

Rowan’s Piercing Studio Nurse reports to the Studio Manager and is dedicated to creating a safe, clean, and joyful ear‑piercing experience. The role blends advanced nursing skills with customer‑facing interactions to build trust and excitement for each piercing session.

Responsibilities

• Create magical and memorable customer experiences by combining top‑notch clinical care with a celebratory atmosphere during each piercing session.
• Ensure customer safety, comfort, and smooth flow of care.
• Provide confident, clear, and professional communication with clients throughout their entire piercing experience.
• Create a comforting atmosphere to ease concerns and maintain a relaxed environment.
• Educate customers on aftercare, promoting Rowan’s After Care to support healing and well‑being.
• Conduct thorough ear evaluations to find the perfect earring placement and offer personalized styling advice.
• Actively monitor the customer experience, quickly addressing and resolving any issues to maintain Rowan’s clinical standards.
• Maintain a sterile and aseptic environment at the nurse station and on the procedure tray, ensuring all surfaces, instruments, and supplies are clean and properly sanitized.
• Apply expert knowledge of skin care, infection control, and prevention to provide professional and personalized piercing services.
• Collaborate with the Studio Manager to keep operations running smoothly and foster a joyful, celebratory atmosphere.
• Demonstrate flexibility by filling shifts as needed.
• Mentor and train new nurses to uphold Rowan’s Clinical Piercing Standards, including shadowing piercing services and observing customer interactions.
• Stay vigilant for any factors that could impact the customer experience and report issues to management for timely resolution.
• Ensure all piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, are stocked with necessary supplies.
• Sterilize jewelry and needle instruments to guarantee safety and cleanliness.
• Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines closely to ensure a sanitary and safe piercing experience.
• Support key studio metrics, such as revenue growth, piercing efficiency (e.g., piercings per hour), average order value, and sales boost.
• Quickly address and escalate operational concerns, ensuring clear communication with management and team members to implement solutions efficiently.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN/LVN license.

Compensation

$40 per hour + 100% of earned tips! Nurses typically earn an additional $25 per hour in tips once fully trained. Tips are not guaranteed and may vary by location.
